CONE STEEL SET SCREW SYSTEM — SECOND PONIT OF CONTACT Deployed through the center of the buttstock tube, this set screw applies pressure to the trigger group, giving a second point of contact to lock the action down for maximum rigidity and repeatability.

FULL LENGTH DOVE TAIL RAIL: This is a game changer. Now you can mount Arca-Style Bipods & Tripods anywhere along the bottom of the rail giving you greater stability to make the shot.

MLOK® COMPATIBLE: .Magpul designed, U.S. Military mandated. The MLOK® attachment system won top spot in the Crane Report. MLOK® you to mount picatinny, night vision, illumination and/or grip panels as needed.

AMBIDEXTROUS: Adjustable & rotating aluminum thumb rest with knurled texture - add one to each side (four holes per side on chassis for mounting).

KNURLED BOTTOM PLATE: Our unique cross hatch knurling pattern runs along the bottom to provide additional grip when shooting off a bag or barricade.

INTEGRATED GRIP HANGER: Compatible with non-beavertail AR-style pistol grips (integrated design, not bolt-on).

Why is a Arca-Swiss Rail useful for precision rifle?

The Advantage of the Dovetail Rail

Often mis-referenced as “Arca-Swiss,” the 1.5” Dovetail Rail originated in the photography world. Arca-Swiss was the first company to develop a wide clamping rail system capable of securing large-format cameras on tripods.

Today, that same system is the standard in precision rifles. Integrated into the RPG Chassis, the Dovetail Rail lets you lock into tripods or bipods with speed and confidence, giving you a stable, repeatable platform no other system can match.

Why does the RPG include a Dovetail (Arca-Swiss) Rail?

Precision shooters adopted it because the wide, rectangular rail profile allows the rifle to sit flat in the clamp, preventing unwanted roll and increasing stability. Note about an aluminum chassis: Aluminum is lightweight and stiff, but it has less mass. Less mass means more prone to vibrate (higher amplitude) unless damped or weighted. By adding brass weights, you increase overall mass, lower resonance amplitudes, and move the system’s vibration nodes. That means more consistent bullet exits relative to the vibration cycles (better grouping).

Because brass dampens vibration more effectively than steel or aluminum, they blend seamlessly with the aluminum chassis to improve group sizes and follow-up shot speed. Second Point of Contact — Why It Matters

Every precision shooter knows that consistency is everything. RPG includes a Steel Cone Screw

This steel screw applies controlled pressure directly to the trigger group, creating a second point of contact that locks the receiver firmly into the chassis. The result:

Zero movement of the action under recoil or during transport
Improved harmonics by reducing micro-shifts between the receiver and chassis
Repeatable accuracy every time you break down and reassemble your rifle

Does the RPG Chassis come with a buttstock?

No — you choose your own AR-15 buffer tube and stock to complete the build.

Which grips are compatible?

Any AR-style pistol grip without a beavertail.

Can I switch between forends later?

Yes — the RPG is modular. You can start with a Comp Forend and later move to HR1, or vice versa.

What does adding these brass weights actually do to accuracy?

More mass up front helps reduce the amplitude of barrel and fore-end vibration, shifts vibration nodes, and slows down resonant oscillation. The bullet exits at a more stable moment, giving tighter, more consistent grouping.

Will steel weights work too?

Yes, but steel tends to transmit vibration more than brass. You’ll get weight, but might lose some vibration dampening and consistency compared to brass. For precision use, brass tends to outperform.

Will adding this much weight affect handling?

Absolutely. More weight means slower transitions and a heavier front end. But for applications where stability and grouping are more important (NRL22, benchrest, prone), that trade-off is often worth it. The design of the RPG allows you to choose how many bars to use, so you can balance handling vs stability as needed.

What barrels will it fit?

The RPG includes a bull barrel channel and is compatible with Volquartsen Summit receivers and Kidd rear tang setups.

Will the MLOK® accessory screws touch the barrel?

You never want anything touching you barrel so our MLOK® accessories have shortened screws that allow clearance with even heavy barrels. Please note if you use some MLOK® accessories you may need to remove your handguard before removing your barrel. The Maxim Picatinny rails we offer here will not inhibit barrel removal.

Why is there a little slot cut into the HR1 by the receiver?

That little slot is a window to visually confirm that your barrel has been seated all the way into the receiver when you change it. ALWAYS LOOK AND CONFIRM THIS WHEN CHANGING YOUR BARREL.
